Rebound Rascals
Mission briefing
Rebound Rascals is a bouncy monster roguelite where every shot ends in a big BONK. Aim at the peg board and let go: your marble bounces from peg to peg, and every peg it hits adds damage. Then your monster hero throws all that power at the cheeky rascals marching up the lane, before they bonk you first. New to peg-board roguelites? Your first fight is won in seconds, and the game shows you each idea the first time it appears: gold pegs that turn the whole shot into a critical hit, bombs that blow up on every rascal, a green peg that brings the board back, and Chompy, who swallows your marble at the bottom of the board so you can shoot again. 12 marbles, 24 trinkets and 17 rascals, 3 of them bosses, across three acts. Every run takes a new path: pick a door for a fight, a tough elite, a shop, a campfire, a treasure chest or a mystery, fill your bag with marbles that split, zap, burn, freeze or roll through pegs, and stack trinkets that bend the rules. Stars from every run unlock new marbles, new trinkets, three more heroes and spicier difficulty levels. Play the way you like. Drag to aim with the dotted guide, let go to shoot, tap a rascal to choose your target, and hold the board to speed up a long shot. A new Daily Dash every day, the same for everyone, keeps your streak going, and the Monsterpedia fills up with every rascal you meet. Rebound Rascals speaks English, French and Spanish, and your run is saved after every turn, so you can stop and come back whenever you like.
Field manual
Beat the rascals walking up the lane before they reach your hero. Each shot, your marble bounces through the peg board: every peg hit adds damage, gold pegs make the whole shot a critical hit, red bombs hit every rascal, the green peg brings popped pegs back, and Chompy at the bottom hands the marble back for another shot. Win fights, pick a door on the path, collect marbles and trinkets, and bonk the boss at the end of each of the three acts. Mouse or touch: drag on the board to aim (the dotted line shows the first bounce), let go to shoot. Tap a rascal to make it your target. Hold the board to speed up a shot. Keyboard: Left and Right arrows aim, Space or Enter shoots, Escape pauses, M mutes.
Launch orders: press Launch mission above and the game loads on this page itself — nothing downloads and no form stands between you and the first move. It is designed for a flexible screen and takes its orders from mouse, keyboard or touch, depending on the mission. It adapts to both upright and wide screens, so phones, tablets and desktops all frame it sensibly. If it offers a fullscreen control, use it — a fight this size deserves the whole screen.
Field notes for shooting operations
- Short bursts beat long ones. Recoil, spread and plain panic all grow the longer you hold the trigger; three controlled shots land where one long spray writes poetry on the wall behind your target.
- Reload behind something. The reload animation is the most dangerous second in any shooter — spend it behind cover, mid-jump, or not at all if the magazine still has work in it.
- Sound is intelligence. Footsteps, reload clicks and distant fire tell you where the fight is before the screen does; play with the volume up and treat every noise as a map marker.
Rebound Rascals — questions from the ranks
What does it cost to play Rebound Rascals?
Nothing at all. The mission is free from the first order to the last — no sign-up, no download, no paid tier guarding the good levels. The advertising around this page is what keeps the board free.
What sort of mission is Rebound Rascals?
Rebound Rascals is filed in our Shooting theatre. Like every operation on this board, it is a browser game — read the briefing above for the publisher's own account of what you are deploying into.
Can I run Rebound Rascals on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It plays in the browser on phones and tablets exactly as it does on a computer. It adapts to both upright and wide screens, so phones, tablets and desktops all frame it sensibly.
Do I have to install anything before playing?
No installation of any kind. Rebound Rascals is an HTML5 game: press the launch button and it loads on this page, and closing the tab leaves nothing behind.
