Crush Hour
Mission briefing
Crush Hour is an endless arcade runner set in a zombie rush hour. Your truck drives itself — swipe to change lanes, hop the sidewalk, and smash the undead for combos and score. Weave through traffic, ram cars and trucks for extra points, grab fuel before the tank runs dry, and snag Rampage pickups for a smash frenzy. Near-misses reward clean driving. Survive the jam, beat your best, and own the highway.
Field manual
Rush hour belongs to the dead — and you are the truck. Your rig drives itself down an endless highway. Smash zombies for score and combos, weave past cars, and hop onto the sidewalk when the lanes get ugly. Cars nick your HP for a few points; trucks hurt more and pay more. Near-misses reward clean driving. Grab fuel cans before the tank runs dry, and snag the orange Rampage pickup for a smash frenzy. Survive as long as you can, beat your best score, and climb the leaderboard. There is no finish line — the wreck is the end, the high score is the win. Desktop Controls: ← (Left Arrow) or A: Change lane left / hop onto the left sidewalk. → (Right Arrow) or D: Change lane right / hop onto the right sidewalk. Spacebar: Retry after a wreck. Mobile Controls: Swipe left: Change lane left / hop onto the left sidewalk. Swipe right: Change lane right / hop onto the right sidewalk.
Launch orders: press Launch mission above and the game loads on this page itself — nothing downloads and no form stands between you and the first move. It is designed for a flexible screen and takes its orders from mouse, keyboard or touch, depending on the mission. It adapts to both upright and wide screens, so phones, tablets and desktops all frame it sensibly. If it offers a fullscreen control, use it — a fight this size deserves the whole screen.
Field notes for zombie operations
- The horde is a resource problem wearing a horror costume. Every bullet spent on one zombie is one not spent on the five behind it — line them up, funnel them, make each shot plural.
- Barricades buy seconds, not safety. Spend those seconds on the next line of defense or the exit, never on admiring the first one.
- Noise is a beacon. Loud weapons solve the zombie in front of you and summon the street behind you; the quiet option is often the shot you do not take.
Crush Hour — questions from the ranks
What does it cost to play Crush Hour?
Nothing at all. The mission is free from the first order to the last — no sign-up, no download, no paid tier guarding the good levels. The advertising around this page is what keeps the board free.
What sort of mission is Crush Hour?
Crush Hour is filed in our Zombie theatre. Like every operation on this board, it is a browser game — read the briefing above for the publisher's own account of what you are deploying into.
Can I run Crush Hour on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It plays in the browser on phones and tablets exactly as it does on a computer. It adapts to both upright and wide screens, so phones, tablets and desktops all frame it sensibly.
Do I have to install anything before playing?
No installation of any kind. Crush Hour is an HTML5 game: press the launch button and it loads on this page, and closing the tab leaves nothing behind.
